Maybelline Fit Me Dewy Foundation

As anyone who has been following my blog for a while knows, I am always on the hunt for the latest and greatest fashion and beauty products. Especially as a fashion blogger, it's not only important that my skin looks as flawless as possible in pictures, but I also need the products I use to last all day.  Thanks to Influenster's partnership with Maybelline, I was able to try out their updated Dewy + Smooth foundation formula, and I was so impressed! Keep reading to learn more about why this foundation works for me and some tips for a flawless, long-wear look.

Okay, let's address one thing before I dive any deeper. Yes, the Maybelline Fit Me Dewy + Smooth Foundation was sent to me. However, I am neither paid nor asked in any way to give a positive review. Actually, I'm only required to post on Instagram – this blogpost is not required or mentioned. I am writing this entirely because I really enjoyed the product after testing it out for two weeks straight, and I wanted to share it on here to provide some tips on application.

Now that that's out of the way, let's get into it. In this foundation I wear the shade "120 Classic Ivory" and it's the perfect neutral undertone for my skin. The foundation applies flawlessly and easily, the one downside is that it doesn't come in a pump which is typically a feature I like to see in my foundations. Beyond that, I was worried at first that this foundation wouldn't be the best fit since I have very oily skin and it's a dewy formula. However, I was happily surprised with the results. Though it is certainly not matte like my go-to Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion foundation, with setting powder it actually had a really natural finish that was very flattering.

I was also sent the Master Prime Hydrating Primer which I enjoyed with my matte foundations but NOT with the Maybelline Fit Me. Like I said, I have oily skin and the moisture of both together made my skin too dewy and I found myself blotting frequently throughout the day. Instead, I found that the best primer combination for this foundation was my Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer. This helped to control the natural oils in my face and made the foundation significantly more long-wearing. I do enjoy the Master Prime, but I don't recommend it with a dewy foundation if you are like me and struggle with oily skin, however I'm sure it's great if you have a dryer complexion.

Another important factor when testing new foundations is seeing how other products blend on top of it. This is a total deal breaker for me – if my go-to cream contour and powders don't layer well I won't use the foundation. Thankfully, all of my products layered well without any bunching or cracking, so this Maybelline foundation has quickly become a part of my daily routine.

I found the cheapest place to purchase the Maybelline Fit Me Dewy + Smooth Foundation was Target (here) for only $5.89 – seriously a steal! Below I've linked the other beauty products that worked best with this foundation – I swear by all of them!
